End The Year Strong (Framework)
Wow! You showed up! Well hi there! :) I am so grateful and hope that this simple framework that I have put together below helps you to gain clarity on how you can spend your remaining days of 2023. Here goes!
Reflect
I know this might sound obvious but not very many people do it.. not effectively anyways. It can be challenging and sometimes overwhelming and therefore can be easily avoided. Reflection is one of the major keys. It is important to carve out some time to seriously reflect on the past year. What were your achievements, challenges, and lessons you learned this year? Answer these questions honestly and then consider what worked well for you this year and what didn’t. Then just decide to improve on THAT in the future. Pretty straight forward, right?
Prioritize
This one can be a challenge if you have a hard time with boundaries. I can dive deeper into that another time, but for now the assignment is to identify what areas of your life you’d like to focus on during these final days. It can be anything you choose to focus on, like, personal growth, relationships, health, career, or any other aspect that holds significant value for you. I recommend that you choose whatever will get you closest to the thing you want and desire the most.
Set Goals
Now this is the fun part. Go in your phone and make a reminder to take about an hour to look over your list of goals that you created for the year of 2023. And if you didn’t write them down (which I hope you did), just recall them in your mind. Don’t judge the list or measure where you’re at with them, just ask yourself, “What can I achieve within the next 10 days?”. You may even have to break the goal down into smaller pieces in order to make it realistic and attainable. It is not too late to begin to make big leaps towards that big goal within the remaining time left of this year. We can do this!
In case you need an example, lets say that one of your goals was to write a book. Breaking it down would look something like:
Brainstorm and outline the main plot.
Set a goal for the total word count of the book.
Establish a writing schedule.
Begin writing the first chapter
This is just an example of what breaking the goal down may look like and it will allow you to still get the win. Why? Because you are doing the things that are steps to the big goal which is to write a book. So when you break it down, your new set of goals will guide your activities and ensure that you’re making progress towards your main goal as you step into the new year. Let me know if I need to break this down more.
Plan
Create a daily schedule outlining how you will allocate your time over the next 10 days. This one has been so effective for me thus far! Dedicate different time slots for each thing you’re working on while keeping a healthy balance between the other areas of your life. This will help you to stay organized and make the most of your precious time. It may sound tedious but it gets the job done and I feel like I am winning at life because of it!
Take Action
If you’re still reading up to this point that means that you are dedicated to taking action, NOW. We’re not waiting until 2024 to act on our goals. Remember to start working on your goals one day at a time. Break them down into small tasks or milestones so that you can make them more manageable. Be nice to yourself during the process, prioritize what’s most important and don’t forget to celebrate all of your progress along the way. I believe this will carry over well for us in the new year as we continue to do the work and grow.
Reflect Again
Can you tell that I have been in my reflection bag? Lol! Yes, Let’s regularly review our progress and adjust our approach if and when needed. Reflect on how each day’s activities align with your goal and make the necessary changes to ensure that you stay on track. It’s just another way of holding yourself accountable.
Balance
And finally, find a balance between your goals and enjoying the holiday season with your loved ones. Make time for relaxation, self-care, and spending quality time with the people and things you love. It is so important to recharge and find joy in the present moment! Because, you deserve it.
Okay now, I hope this helps you to gain some sort of clarity on how to spend your final days of 2023. Wishing you a ton of progress, balance, and fulfillment. Thank you so much for reading. Happy Holidays!
